G.W. Carver Middle School has a closed campus policy. Students must remain on the school grounds from the time they arrive (even if the first period has not yet started) until dismissal. Florida Statute states that schools are responsible for students 30 minutes before school and 30 minutes after school. This means no students should be on school grounds before 8:35 AM or after 4:20 PM. Students are not permitted to play football, softball, soccer, etc. before or after school. At the end of the school day, if students are not involved in a supervised school activity, they must leave the grounds by 4:20 PM. Parents – for the safety and well-being of all children, it is strongly encouraged that transportation arrangements be made so that no child is left unsupervised on school grounds after 4:20 PM.
